Dear Lauren,
I am writing on behalf
of the family of E. M. a one-year-old child with recurrent atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor, a form of brain cancer that is
life limiting. E.'s treatment included two brain surgeries that failed to try and stop the spread of the disease.
E.'s parents have made the loving decision to care for E. at home with the support of hospice.
E. lives with
his parents and extended family in New Jersey. Prior to E.'s diagnosis Mr. M. was working full-time to support his
family. Over the past month he has decided to work part-time so he can spend more time with E. As a result, the
family is struggling financially.
I am requesting financial assistance in the amount of $300.00 to cover the cost
of Mr. M.'s cell phone bill. Mr. M. uses the cell phone as the primary phone to remain in contact with hospice staff
and E.'s medical team at CHOP.
